Featured Project: Merchant Intro Kit

PROJECT: Create a multi-function kit that welcomes new subscribers of a local on-line business directory, while creating brand awareness and loyalty for that business directory throughout the community.  Plan for warehousing and fulfillment as more businesses subscribe for the service.

GOAL: Keep costs down (including shipping costs), make the process efficient, and plan ahead for ever-increasing ordering, warehousing and fulfillment needs.

PROCESS: Tons of R&D on this project including multiple meetings with client to create mock-ups and discuss pricing at various quantities.

RESULTS: While the creative was relatively simple on this one, it's the job engineering and thinking about future needs that was a little trickier than most.  We knew we were on to a successful plan when we came up with the way to include a 5.5x8.5 easel, 75 business cards, a pocket that gets mounted to the easel to hold those cards, a 2 sided label for the merchant's front door and a cover letter that doubles as the address info, all in 1 readily-available 6x9 "view" envelope.  An economical plan that works especially well because the kit can be mailed via USPS instead of shipped - thereby saving about $4 on every single kit.

LISA'S NOTES: There are multiple ways to create an easel, to print a 2 sided label, and to ship out a kit.  It was one of those great ah-hah moments when the perfect plan for this particular situation came together.  Not shown in the picture is the "view" envelope, so you are going to have to imagine folding the intro letter (with the return address and mailing block) in half to double as the address label through a great big window in the front of "view" envelope, and everything else shown here tucked inside that envelope (including the pocket that holds the business cards on the easel - also not shown here).  We receive, track, process, and bill order efficiently, and mailing often occurs within hours of receipt of order.
